ABOUT CAROLINE

Hello there. My name is Caroline Pestel and I am a Washington, D.C. and Arlington, Virginia-based photographer, creative consultant, and storyteller. I specialize in editorial and documentary style photography that seeks to capture the energy in a moment. I offer visual marketing and social media consulting and coaching to brands, personalities and businesses focused on content creation, engagement, strategy and account management. 

I am a proud U.S. Army Officer, graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point ('10) and Iraq War veteran, with an insatiable appetite for challenge, adventure and the next fantastic meal. I am also the co-founder of Homegrwn Creative and managing editor of CADET.

As a creative-minded individual serving in the disciplined world of the military, I found photography and food writing as an outlet to express my culinary curiosity through stories and photos from my dining explorations around the globe. My goal is simple - help tell the tales of chefs, restaurants, personalities and brands by creating and sharing images and stories of inspiration and passion.

I love nothing more than partnering with restaurants, hotels, businesses and brands to collaborate on a diverse range of projects including content creation, photo shoots, menu and design consultation, event hosting and planning, and promotion opportunities.
